Julia Child…Spanish Style

Friday, June 29
After about 4 hours of sleep the alarm went off and again it was rally the troops. Cooking class today and we have to be at the bus station early. Cait, Kat, Tim, Alicia, Kathryn and I met out front and made our way through the streets of Alicante. After a 2 hour bus ride we arrived in Denia. Hugo and Lorenzo met us at the bus station and each of us separated into vehicles. The other group said they were a little concerned about where they were going and who they were with, since I had arranged the cooking class and their driver Lorenzo didn't speak much English. We arrived at this little park and had an outdoor cook out.
The food was amazing. A few of us had a hands on experience, Tim and Alicia. Others of us just watched and learned. They kept giving us beer and sangria and it wasn't long before we were laughing obnoxiously and feeling at home with Rosario, Lorenzo and their son Hugo. It was a blast. One of the best days.

I can't wait to make a full on Spanish meal for everyone. We took the bus back to Alicante and prepared for the last night of fireworks. Of course we couldn't break tradition and had another picnic on the beach.
Alyssa and I called it an early night so we could be ready for our last day. I just can't believe that the time passed so quickly.
